Enfield Counselling Service provides psychodynamic counselling to
people over the age of 18.
Psychodynamic counselling provides a confidential space where a person
can speak their mind and explore their emotional difficulties.
The counselling relationship can help a person clarify and understand the patterns that have developed in their life, and explore how past experience may still be affecting them and the way they relate to others.
Going through this process can help people have more confidence and choice in the way they live.
The first step for anyone wanting counselling at ECS is to arrange an initial assessment. During this first meeting, both the client and the assessment counsellor will talk together and think about whether psychodynamic counselling would be suitable for you.
Depending on your assessed needs, we offer long-term individual counselling, group therapy or couple counselling. lf we feel that psychodynamic counselling is not an appropriate service to offer, we can refer people on to other, hopefully more suitable agencies.
We usually offer open-ended long-term counselling, which may continue for at least several months. Often longer, especially if difficulties are deep-seated.
Couple counselling is offered with the same principles in mind, but is particularly useful in exploring how the couple concerned relate to each other.
Once both parties have agreed that counselling is appropriate, we try to match you with a counsellor as soon as possible - waiting time is dependent on a counsellor being available at the times you can manage.
8am – 9pm Monday to Friday
9am – 6pm Saturday
The fee for ongoing individual or couples counselling ranges from
£25 - £45 (Individual counselling)
£30 - £50 (Couples counselling)
