Enfield Counselling Service (ECS) has been training counsellors since 1978. Our courses are accredited by the Westminster Pastoral Foundation (WPF), a well known and reputable counselling and psychotherapy training organisation.

Certificate in Counselling Skills
The Certificate in Counselling Skills is a one year part-time course offering a thorough grounding in basic counselling skills which can be of benefit to those in the medical, caring, teaching and social work professions.
- Fees: £1,200 per year*
- Application fee: £15 (wavied for workshop attendees)
- Selection interview: £40
- Time: Monday evenings, 7.00pm – 10.15pm
Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling
The Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling is a two year part-time course, which includes a supervised clinical placement at Enfield Counselling Service. Successful completion of this course qualifies trainees to work as agency counsellors, and fulfills part of the requirements for BACP individual accreditation.
- Fees: £2,250 per year* (includes cost of supervision), 2+ years, starts September
- Application fee: £15 (waived for ECS certificate students)
- Selection interview and case discussion: £40
- External assessor interview: £55
- Time: Monday evenings, 7.00pm – 10.15pm
Postgraduate Diploma in the Theory of Psychodynamic Counselling
This one-year course is open to counsellors who have completed a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling, either at ECS or elsewhere. It provides an opportunity for counsellors to deepen their understanding of psychodynamic theory, and to apply this knowledge to their clinical practice.
- Fees: £2,250 per year* - one year, starts January
- Application fee: £15
- Interview fee: £40 (waived for ECS Counsellors)
- Time: Thursdays, 2.00pm – 7.00pm
Is Counsellor Training For You?
Fees: £45
One-day workshop, held several times a year.
This one-day workshop provides a taster of the types of thinking and activity you might experience within a counselling course.
During the day you will be introduced to some of the basic listening and responding skills. You will also be encouraged to join in experiential exercises and group discussions about various aspects of the counselling process and techniques used in counselling skills courses.
You will not receive a specific recommendation to a particular training, but you will have an overview of the various schools of thought and practice in the counselling world.
